I (Kellen Esquibel) purchased my first pool service route in 2016 with no formal training and very little knowledge of the pool industry. I had one experienced person I could occasionally call for advice, but most of what I learned came from researching, working in the field, and figuring out problems as they appeared.

Pools have far more nuance than most people realize. Water chemistry, filtration, circulation, plumbing, electrical systems, automation, and equipment must all work together. No manual can prepare someone for every situation. Real expertise comes from years of field experience, encountering new problems regularly, and building a repertoire of hundreds of situations you know how to diagnose and solve.

For my first six years, I worked in the field full time, accumulating well over 10,000 hours of hands-on experience. Those years required persistence, long days, extensive self-education, and a commitment to finding solutions for customers even when the answer was not immediately clear. That experience became the foundation for how SwimHappy operates today.

The struggles of building a business largely on my own were overwhelming at times, but I remained focused on improving our service, expanding my knowledge, and taking care of every customer. Over time, that dedication led to steady growth.

Today, SwimHappy services more than 700 pools each week. Our team includes 13 service technicians, three repair and equipment-upgrade technicians, and three office team members. We serve homeowners, commercial properties, property managers, and vacation rentals throughout our service area.

Our expertise is complete pool care. Weekly service and equipment upgrades are at the center of what we do, but we also provide repairs, automation, lighting, filtration improvements, salt systems, pebble surface installations, tile work, and decking resurfacing.
